Railways Remembered
The film production unit of the former London Midland & Scottish Railway was created as a result of the hugely successful North American Tour of the 'Royal Scot' train. It went on to produce both travel and publicity films showing aspects of railway operations, then screened them on tour to audiences large and small in Town Hall’s and Village Hall’s throughout the country; and very popular they were in the days before television! This special screening of genuine LMS promotional films recalls the heyday of the pre-war touring LMS Film Unit showing both social history and engineering excellence 80 years ago – full steam ahead!!
