HI DI HI STAR HEADS PALACE PANTO CAST
Television star JEFFREY HOLLAND will be swapping his Hi Di Hi yellow coat for something a little more uncomfortable this Christmas as he curls his eyelashes and dons some outrageous wigs in Jack and the Beanstalk, this year’s gigantic family pantomime at the Palace Theatre in Newark.
In addition to his hugely successful screen career, appearing in shows like Russ Abbot’s Madhouse, The Les Dennis Laughter Show, You Rang M’Lord? and Oh Doctor Beeching, Jeffrey has enjoyed a fantastic stage career. No stranger to pantomime, this Christmas he will be playing Dame Trott, Jack’s mother, and hopes to have Newark audiences rolling in the aisles.
Joining Jeffrey on the Palace stage will be JUDY BUXTON, whose many television appearances include Bergerac, Blake’s Seven, By the Sword Divided, Diary of a Nobody, Lovejoy, Next of Kin, Rising Damp, and three series as Dennis Waterman’s television wife, Ruth, in On the Up.
In the world of pantomime, Judy has cast her magic spells across the UK in shows such as Cinderella, Dick Whittington and Peter Pan, just as she’ll be doing when she takes the role of Fairy Organic in Newark.
Playing Jack in Newark will be CHRIS PARK, a singer/songwriter from Newcastle upon Tyne, while the role of Simple Simon goes to new star comedian IAN JONES.
Jack and the Beanstalk opens at the Palace Theatre on Wednesday 10 December 2008 and runs until Sunday 4 January 2009. Bookings for the show are already being taken - for times, ticket prices and reservations, see below or call the Palace Theatre Box Office on 01636 655755.
